inDrive’s Intercity Rides Skyrocket in Pakistan Hits 4x Growth

As more people travel between cities, inDrive’s City-to-City ride service has seen a sharp rise in popularity. The global ride-hailing platform reports a 4x increase in intercity rides compared to last year, with routes like Lahore–Islamabad, Lahore–Gujranwala, and Karachi–Hyderabad seeing the highest activity.

Interestingly, the trend isn’t limited to big cities—people are also using inDrive to travel to places like Sheikhupura, Kasur, Mardan, and Okara. Travel demand has especially spiked during the summer holidays, with a 75% increase in bookings to tourist spots like Murree between April and June.

inDrive isn’t just helping passengers—it’s also creating solid income opportunities. Top drivers on the busy Lahore–Islamabad route are reportedly earning between PKR 300,000 to 350,000 per month, even after covering costs.

“More people are traveling, and more drivers are making real money. It’s a win-win,” said Awais Saeed, Country Head at inDrive Pakistan. “Our model is all about choice and control—for both drivers and riders.”

With inDrive, passengers can choose to share rides with others—splitting the cost while enjoying the comfort of door-to-door service. Unlike buses or vans, there’s no need to visit terminals or stand in line.

For drivers, the app uses a smart matching system that suggests up to four passengers per trip, helping them fill seats and boost earnings. Plus, drivers already traveling on a specific route get priority access to new bookings.

Depending on the distance, drivers usually complete 2 to 4 trips a day. Longer routes often mean two rides, while shorter ones allow for more. Thanks to inDrive’s peer-to-peer pricing, fares are negotiated directly—giving users more control and flexibility.

Beyond travel, inDrive says its mission is to empower everyday Pakistanis. With easy sign-up, low costs, and fair pricing, the platform is helping thousands earn extra income—whether full-time or on the side.
